Pumzi(Swahili for Breath), is an abstract visual ode to the in and out, breath-like rhythm of a multiverse which is very much alive and dancing. Amor fati, my love for it all -its darkness and light.
Pumzi opens with a couple of galaxies playfully dancing around each other, there's a push-pull, close then distant attitude, like good lovers. They merge and bring forth a "first breath" which explodes and contracts again, birthing a vibrant star. The star spins into a dance, faster and faster then expands again, bursting to give birth to more magnificence of the multiverse. This "breathing pattern" is repeated by many beautiful entities, and finally, we see Earth. We pause here longer, slower, to emphasise this anthropocene epoch where humans/our awakened consciousness will come to shape the future of our universe.
Currently making festival round at the NASA Cinespace Competition.
